Austin bartender competing to be the 'best in Texas'

Terance Robson is competing for the title and $10,000.

AUSTIN, Texas — Austin bartender Terance Robson could be $10,000 richer if he wins a statewide bartending competition.

The Garrison Brothers Bourbon Brawl is searching for the best bartender in Texas, and Robson has made it to the finals.

He’s up against competition from Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio.

Each bartender will compete in a three-round matchup to determine who will take home the grand prize of $10,000.

Robson, who is from Ireland, has already planned what he will do with the money if he wins.

“My mom and my sister and my friend Nick’s mom have never been to Austin, so I’m going to buy them all flights over," Robson said.

One of the cocktails that got him into the finals is a twist on an Irish Coffee. He calls it “Straight Outta Dublin,” and it’s a hot cocktail with a cool whipped topping inspired by his favorite childhood dessert, banoffee pie.
