Storms leave Lockhart gas station mangled

The Exxon gas station off of South Colorado Street in Lockhart suffered serious wind damage from Sunday night's storms.

LOCKHART, Texas — Sunday began with sizzling temperatures before storms erupted in Central Texas, leaving damage in parts of the area.

In Caldwell County, wind speeds reached up to around 60 mph leading to downed trees and mangled gas stations.

In Lockhart, just off of South Colorado Street and a couple of blocks away from the Caldwell County Court House, Sunday night's winds destroyed part of an Exxon gas station: the roof above the gas pumps had completely come down.

In Maxwell, west of Lockhart, a Valero gas station suffered storm damage as well.
