Austin-based Juiceland reportedly planning Texas expansion

Juiceland has more than two dozen locations in the Austin area, plus stores in the Dallas and Houston areas.

AUSTIN, Texas — A beloved Austin-based smoothie and juice chain is making plans to expand.

According to a report from the Austin Business Journal (ABJ), leaders with JuiceLand are focusing on growth this year. The company plans to open locations in Round Rock and Dallas and make its way into San Antonio.

ABJ reports that as Texas attempts to return to normal, some pandemic habits have stuck with people. To keep up, businesses are adapting.

JuiceLand's online orders went from 4% pre-pandemic and have steadied at nearly 30%, Founder and CEO Matt Shook told ABJ. In 2019, JuiceLand made $29 million in revenue and served 12,000 smoothies per day. Shook told ABJ that he expects to see an increase this spring as more people return to work in person.

Shook was forced to close the least profitable JuiceLand locations at the beginning of the pandemic, going from 37 to 34, ABJ reports. However, this is no longer the situation as the company strategizes its growth.

The report states that JuiceLand is establishing all of its growth in Texas even though it receives requests from across the U.S.

“We’re laser-focused on Texas because we know the state has so much potential,” Shook told ABJ. “We think focusing on Texas is a big enough bite of the apple for us.”

Shook said that San Antonio is JuiceLand's most requested market, so the company is searching for locations there.

According to its website, JuiceLand has two stores coming soon. One will be located in Dallas, bringing that city to three JuiceLand sites, and the other will open in Round Rock in one or two months. Shook told ABJ he wants to expand north and south and is looking at locations in Leander and Kyle.
