AUSTIN, Texas — After a few games on the road, Austin Bold FC is ready to host their fans at their new home at Bold Stadium, located at the Circuit of the Americas

The first Austin Bold FC home game opener will be Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The team will be taking on I-35 rivals, San Antonio FC.

Founded in 2018, Austin Bold FC is an American professional soccer team, competing in the United Soccer League (USL). Led by head coach Marcelo Serrano, the club has recruited talents from across the country and parts of Europe and South America with MLS and World Cup experience.

The club team's general manager, Roberto Silva, said the team is excited to finally get to play in their new home.

"The quality of the team overall is so high. It's really unbelievable to bring that to Austin in a soccer-specific stadium to high-level play," Silva said. "Truly, there are some big cities that don't have this quality of players that we have, so it's very exciting to deliver this to the city. We're very excited about this moment for professional soccer in Austin, where we have the first soccer-specific stadium. It's European-style, very friendly, very family cozy."

Crews broke ground on the 5,000 plus seating stadium back in October. When asked if there were any home game traditions in the works, Silva explained that's something the team wants to create and work on alongside their fans.

'We have some ideas that we're going to try and make happen, but at the end, it's about the people who come out, starting traditions, those things the fans create that we think is going to be good," Silva said.

In addition to playing, Silva said something important to the team is that they be able to give back to their community. Five percent of Austin Bold FC ticket and jersey sales will go to the Dell Children's Medical Center Foundation
