Fire damages Wimberley's King Feed and Hardware store

King Feed and Hardware has been part of the Wimberley community for about 70 years.

WIMBERLEY, Texas — A fire early Tuesday morning damaged a feed store that has been in Wimberley for generations.

King Feed and Hardware on Ranch Road 12 first opened in the 1950s. Since then, it's been through remodels, expansions and changes in ownership.

According to the Hays County Fire Marshal's Office, a passing motorist noticed the fire and called 911. The local fire department was paged out at 5:06 a.m.

After arriving on the scene, Wimberley Fire Rescue was able to quickly contain the fire to the main entrance, the fire marshal said. There were no injuries or deaths in the fire.

The pet grooming salon located at the store posted on Facebook, saying the salon will be closed for the foreseeable future.

Due to a fire this morning at the store the grooming salon will be CLOSED for the foreseeable future. We apologize or the inconvenience and abrupt cancellations.
