18-wheeler carrying 40,000 pounds of green beans crashes in Fayette County

Authorities say the truck driver appears to be fine. From photos, it looks as if the green beans did not spill out of the truck.

AUSTIN, Texas — On Wednesday morning, first responders in Fayette County had to clean up a crash involving an 18-wheeler truck carrying 40,000 pounds of green beans.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office posted on social media, saying a truck went off Interstate 10 westbound near Schulenburg and crashed into a creek.

Authorities say the truck driver appears to be fine.

From the photos, it looks like the green beans did not spill out of the truck.

Along with Fayette County deputies, Fayette County EMS, Schulenburg Volunteer Fire Department and Texas DPS responded to the scene.

No other information is available at this time.
