AUSTIN, Texas — A body was found in Lady Bird Lake Thursday morning, Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS) and the Austin Fire Department (AFD) confirmed.
Just after 10 a.m. Thursday, ATCEMS said medics and fire crews were responding to a water rescue incident in the 1600 block of East Riverside Drive. A caller had reported a possible body in the water.
Shortly after, the AFD said the water rescue on Lady Bird Lake changed to recovery mode. Firefighters located the victim, an adult male, and both AFD and ATCEMS confirmed a man died.
The scene has been turned over to the Austin Police Department.
