Bastrop City Manager Lynda Humble abruptly resigns, report says

Lynda Humble became the city manager back in March 2017 after she was hired in February of 2017.

BASTROP, Texas — The City of Bastrop is out of a city manager after Lynda Humble resigned.

According to our partners at the Austin American-Statesman, the Bastrop City Council accepted Humble's abrupt resignation during a meeting Tuesday night.

The council was scheduled to discuss Humble's performance evaluation Tuesday evening, which would have been the fifth time the council took up her evaluation in about two months, the Statesman reported. The performance evaluations are reportedly required by her employment contract.

Humble became the city manager back in March 2017 after she was hired in February of 2017.

"Ms. Humble was the Founder and Principal for the consulting practice she created, which specialized in helping local governments to provide great quality of life to their citizens," her biography states online. "Her focus was to help organizations understand what is driving their culture and offered solutions to build upon success tailored around the City’s values and purpose focusing on the 4P’s – process, performance, people and passion – always keeping the citizens in mind."

It's not clear at this time why Humble resigned.

The Bastrop City council named Trey Job, the City's assistant city manager, the acting city manager until an interim manager is assigned, the Statesman said.
