FREDERICKSBURG, Texas — A new village market is coming to Fredericksburg.
Grand Central at Milam will be a 15,872-square-foot building located on a 1.6-acre site at 206 N. Milam Street, less than a five-minute walk from West Main Street. The market will feature restaurant concepts, tasting rooms and retail all under one roof.
According to the market's website, it "aims to bring the best flavors and flair of the region together in a single site that will also feature an outdoor gathering area for the community to enjoy."
The property is being renovated by St. Croix Capital Companies, which said Grand Central at Milan is modeled after iconic public markets like Pike Place in Seattle and Chelsea Market in New York.

St. Croix said prospective tenants will have several different locations to choose from within the space. The size of the individual spaces will range from approximately 1,000 square feet to approximately 2,500 square feet depending on tenant needs.
The market will feature substantial communal space, including an outdoor common space that is set to include a fenced-in backyard equipped with picnic tables, yard games and space for food trucks.
Grand Central at Milam is also currently hosting a contest for a local artist to complete a mural for a designated outdoor area within the market's site. First prize receives $5,000 and installation of their mural, second place receives $2,500 and third place receives $1,000. Additionally, every applicant becomes an automatic candidate to have their art displayed for sale along the inside walls of the market, free of charge.
Each participant must live within a 50-mile radius of Fredericksburg. Learn more about how to enter and find rules and regulations at GrandMuralIdea.com.
