Forecast: Sticky and foggy start to the workweek

Here are the latest updates from the KVUE Weather Team.

AUSTIN, Texas — Good evening Central Texas, after this morning's foggy and damp conditions the afternoon has turned out quite beautiful. High temperatures at both Camp Mabry and the airport hit 89 degrees, which is only 6 degrees off from our record high temperature for April 29th, which is 95.

We also continue to see dewpoints in the 60s and 70s, this is creating a bit of soupy and especially warm conditions for the region, but we will welcome the sunshine after the rain-filled weekend we had.

Tonight expect little change from the forecast. More fog is expected to form by Tuesday morning, so beware if you are commuting before about 10 a.m. tomorrow. Conditions will again be dry, but we can't rule out a touch of drizzle during the early morning.

As we head towards the mid and late week, daily rain chances will grow higher. This could lead to substantial rainfall throughout the next 7 days and a few rounds of severe thunderstorms.

The timing and location of the rain will be a day-to-day forecast, so be sure to check back with KVUE frequently if you have outdoor plans in the works this week.

MONDAY NIGHT:
Increasing clouds. Patchy fog possible. East wind at 5 to 10 mph.
LOW: 68

7-DAY FORECAST:

Drier and warmer for Tuesday. Rain chances work back in midweek.
