Lake Travis' Garrett Wilson receives All-American Bowl jersey

One of the top 100 high school football players in the nation received a special jersey today. The jersey is one that no other Lake Travis Cavalier has ever worn.

AUSTIN — The nation's second-rated high school receiver in the country received his All-American Bowl jersey Wednesday.

Lake Travis' Garrett Wilson showed off his new jersey proudly. This is a first for the Lake Travis High School football program.

Essentially, the best of the best high school football players in this country receive invites to participate in the All-Star game, which began in 2000.

Approximately 380 NFL draft selections have played in this prestigious high school football All-Star game in San Antonio. This year's game will take place on Saturday, Jan. 5 at the Alamodome. Kickoff is set for noon.

This five-star pass catcher received 33 offers during his recruitment, but has remained committed to Ohio State University. Despite the recent news, Buckeyes' head coach, Urban Meyer stepping down after the Rose Bowl, Wilson's loyalty for Ohio State never wavered.

Wilson and the Lake Travis Cavaliers' will continue their playoff run on Saturday at the Alamodome. The Cavs will meet Converse Judson in a state quarterfinal. That games kicks off at 2:00 p.m.
