Horns force a decisive Super Regional game 3

Texas defeated the Golden Eagles Sunday 4-2.

AUSTIN -- The Longhorns will play for a Super Regional championship Monday, more importantly, a spot in the College World Series.

Texas responded to a 5-4 loss to Tennessee Tech on Saturday with a 4-2 win over the Golden Eagles this afternoon at Disch-Falk Field.

Kody Clemens belted his 23rd homer of the season in the top of the third inning, which gave Texas a 3-1 lead.

Pitcher Chase Shugart pitched a game. The junior hurler pitched six innings, struck out five Golden Eagles, and didn’t allow an earned run.

Blair Henley polished off the win and struck out three Golden Eagles.

Texas and Tennessee Tech will meet Monday for a trip to Omaha. First pitch is at noon CST.
