How you can help Hill Country flood survivors through Austin Disaster Relief Network

People living along the Llano River were evacuated from their homes due to a "historic" flooding event. Now, they need your help.

AUSTIN — The Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN) is preparing to aid Hill Country flood survivors after near-record flooding in Central Texas Tuesday.

ADRN said they're preparing to deploy to areas impacted to provide emotional and spiritual care, immediate financial assistance, clothing, supplies and long-term recovery support.

The ADRN Survivor Hotline has been activated and will remain open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. for support. If you require support, call 512-806-0800.

The ADRN's Emotional and Spiritual Care response teams will be assisting at the Multi-Agency Resource Center in Llano on Oct. 22 and 23 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and at the Kingsland Community Center on Oct. 24 and 25 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m..

The ADRN is also working with local congregations to set up a sponsor program for survivor families.

“When disaster strikes, it is important to raise up a support team around every survivor and/or family impacted by a disaster, to assist them in getting back on their feet. We find more families bouncing back faster when they have this support team walking with them through the recovery process,” said Daniel Geraci, ADRN Director.

If you'd like to make a donation, there are two warehouse locations:

  1. ADRN Heatherwilde Warehouse, 1201 S. Heatherwilde, Austin, Texas 78660. DROP OFF TIMES: Friday, Oct. 19 (1 p.m. to 6 p.m.); Saturday through Friday, (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) (NOTE: Friday, Oct. 26, the ADRN will close this location as a drop-off center.)
  2. Hope Family Thrift Store at ADRN Headquarters, 1122 E. 51st Street, Austin, Texas 78723. DROP OFF TIMES: Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Items needed include:

  • New undergarments (all sizes for adults)
  • New socks (all sizes for adults)
  • New bed pillows and New blankets
  • Inflatable mattresses
  • Box fans
  • Baby bottles, formula and diapers
  • Brooms
  • Shovels
  • 30-gallon contractor black trash bags
  • Heavy-duty mops and mop buckets
  • Utility knives and leather work gloves

ASCO Equipment will be holding a fundraiser for ADRN on Nov. 1 at ShawdowGlen Golf Club in Manor. The barbecue event will feature several contests throughout the day. Costs are $400 for a foursome, $250 for a twosome, $150 for an individual, and $15 per person for the barbecue lunch only.
