Fayette County suspect steals $800 worth of lottery tickets

The man reportedly threw down counterfeit money, grabbed the tickets and ran from the store.

FAYETTE COUNTY, Texas — The Fayette County Sheriff's Office is raising awareness about several incidents that happened earlier this week.

A man is accused of robbing two separate convenience stores on two separate evenings. The suspect allegedly threw down counterfeit money, grabbed the tickets and ran from the store.

The man reportedly got away with upwards of $800 worth of lottery tickets.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic man, 20 to 30 years old, driving a bright red car, possibly a 2016 to 2021 Honda Civic, the sheriff’s office said.

The Texas Lottery Commission is investigating.
