Driver cited after two CapMetro buses crash, sending 9 to hospital

The crash happened at 425 S. Pleasant Valley Rd., officials said. Four ambulances have responded to the scene.

AUSTIN, Texas — A Capital Metro bus driver has been cited for failure to maintain a clear and assured distance after two buses crashed on July 27, CapMetro confirmed on Wednesday.

CapMetro said neither driver was texting and driving or using a cell phone at the time of the crash.

They are working closely with CapMetro's service providers to investigate the crash.

The crash happened at 425 S. Pleasant Valley Rd. at approximately 6:20 p.m., officials said. Four ATCEMS ambulances responded to the scene.

EMS officials said nine total patients were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Five other patients refused transport.
