BASTROP, Texas — One person was detained Thursday after school leaders at Bastrop High School discovered a social media post threatening a shooting on Friday.
The post was found on Snapchat, in which the poster threatened to "shoot up" the school at 11:30 a.m.
Principal John Gosselink sent the following statement to school employees and guardians:
"We are aware of a threat posted on social media today against Bastrop High School for tomorrow, November 22. School administrators and law enforcement responded immediately, and the individual who posted the threat has been identified and arrested. As always, we appreciate the quick action of our police officers who responded so swiftly.
Thank you for your cooperation and support."
