Kyle man arrested for murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child

The murder victim was found unconscious at a home on Waterloo Drive, with severe blunt force trauma injuries.

KYLE, Texas — Kyle police have arrested a man in connection with his wife's murder on Feb. 23.

The Kyle Police Department said at approximately 3:19 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 23, officers responded to a welfare concern call at a home on Waterloo Drive. When they arrived, officers found an unconscious woman – later identified as Pasty Sanchez – who had severe blunt force trauma injuries.

Patsy Sanchez was treated by medics and taken to Ascension Seton Hays Hospital, where she later died.

Police found Marco Sanchez inside the home and arrested him. He is charged with murder and also faces a charge of continuous sexual abuse of a child that dates back to 2021, based on a warrant from the Austin Police Department. He is being held in the Hays County Jail on a combined bond of $750,000.

An affidavit obtained by KVUE states Marco Sanchez and Pasty Sanchez were husband and wife and were separated but still legally married. An autopsy has been ordered to officially determine Patsy Sanchez's cause of death.

The affidavit states that Marco Sanchez admitted to police that he hit his wife several times in the face with a "bat" or "club" after he saw texts on her phone from another man. He told police he intended to kill his wife and his three children, then planned to text the man who texted his wife in attempt to lure the man over to kill him. He told police he also planned to kill the man's wife and children.

Marco Sanchez told police the only reason he stopped was because officers arrived on the scene. According to the affidavit, he told police multiple times that it didn't make a difference to him whether his wife lived or died.
