Pedestrian killed in East 7th Street hit-and-run

The incident happened a little after 2:30 a.m. Monday, according to police.

AUSTIN, Texas — Investigators with the Austin Police Department (APD) are looking for a driver that they say hit and killed a man in Downtown Austin early Monday morning.

APD said the incident happened a little after 2:30 a.m. Monday. Police said a driver in a white lifted pickup truck was headed east on Seventh Street and hit the man just east of Red River Street.

According to Austin-Travis-County EMS, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

APD said the driver is not in custody, and investigators have not identified the man who was killed.
