AUSTIN, Texas — A homicide investigation is ongoing after a man was found shot to death in northeast Austin.
The Austin Police Department (APD) said they received a 911 call just after 3:30 p.m. after an apparent shooting on Middle Fiskville Road, which is near Interstate 35 and Rundberg Lane.
When police arrived, they said they found a man outside of the entrance of The Villages at Fiskville apartments with "obvious gunshot wounds," according to APD Corporal Kilgore. Officers then began performing life-saving measures before taking the man to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
At this time, police said a suspect was taken into custody and that the shooting was an isolated incident. The deadly shooting marks Austin's 51st homicide of the year, according to APD.
