AUSTIN, Texas — Former Texas Longhorn and current Atlanta Falcon Bijan Robinson continues to make an impact both on and off the field.

The NFL Players Association (NFLPA) announced Friday that Robinson has been named the NFLPA Community MVP after he donated $300,000 to Austin nonprofit Mobile Loaves & Fishes to support the Community First! Village, a master planned neighborhood that provides affordable, permanent housing and community to people exiting chronic homelessness.

The NFLPA said 370 people formerly experiencing homelessness were positively impacted by Robinson's donation.

The football player delivered the check in late April and posted photos on his Instagram account.

"Got to do something today that’s bigger than football or anything up to this point," Robinson wrote in the post. "God blessed me with the opportunity to bless @mobileloaves and community first village in Austin Tx with this nice donation of love! It’s says a lot to help someone out, but change some lives is pretty special!"

This isn't the first major charitable donation Robinson has made so far in his career.

He previously won the NFLPA MVP Community Award for donating $25,000 to the Austin Junior Jags youth football and cheerleading program – the largest donation the organization has ever received. Those proceeds went toward uniforms, dues for practice and gameday fields and an end-of-year banquet. According to his website, Robinson also funded a season kickoff party and surprised the kids and coaches at one of their games.

Robinson has also helped the Community First! Village in the past. His website states that for every yard he gained on the field, the DEN Foundation donated $5 to the neighborhood. In February of last year, Robinson visited the Community First! Village to present a check for the $15,000 raised.

The athlete's charity work actually started back when he was still at the University of Texas. In August 2022, he delivered $3,000 worth of backpacks to students at Austin Harmony School of Excellence. He also previously helped teach swimming lessons in Austin in partnership with Austin Parks and Recreation's Aquatic Division and Tankproof, a nonprofit that provides free swimming lessons and food to children in need.
