AUSTIN, Texas — Specialty grocery store and café Foxtrot abruptly closed its locations on Tuesday.
According to the company's website, all Foxtrot and Dom's Kitchen & Market locations were shut down nationwide, including all four of its stores in Austin.
The Chicago-based company had 33 stores across Austin, Dallas, Chicago and Washington, D.C. Its announcement comes just months after the two brands announced a merger to combine their vision of combining the convenience of a market and a restaurant experience.
"It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you of a difficult decision we have had to make. After much consideration and evaluation, we regret to announce that Foxtrot and Dom’s Kitchen & Market will be closing their doors," a post on the company's website said. "We explored many avenues to continue the business but found no viable option despite good faith and exhaustive efforts."
Foxtrot said all store operations, store credits, customer-facing operations and delivery capabilities have all been shut down.
"It has been our highest honor to elevate the everyday and create a remarkable shopping experience for people who love food as much as we do," Foxtrot said in its announcement. "It has been a privilege serving you and being a part of your everyday lives."
