Slipknot coming to Austin on 25th anniversary tour

Heavy metal fans can see the band perform at the Moody Center for one night only.

AUSTIN, Texas — Central Texas heavy metal fans, this one's for you. 

Moody Center has announced Slipknot will make a stop in Austin this fall as part of their "Here Comes the Pain" 25th anniversary tour. 

The concert is scheduled for one night only, starting at 7 p.m. on Sept. 17. Concertgoers can also expect to see performances from metal bands Knocked Loose and Vendor.

Venue presale starts later this week. From 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, fans can purchase tickets online using the code LADYBIRD. 

To purchase presale tickets, fans can join the online waiting room. For the best chance at finding seats early, visit the lobby at least 10 minutes before the sale begins. 

Tickets will be available to the general public the following day starting at 10 a.m.

Austin isn't the only Texas city Slipknot will visit. The band will also make a stop in Dallas on Sept. 18 at the Dos Equis Pavilion. 

Slipknot will kick off their international tour on May 12 in Daytona Beach, Florida.

The history of Slipknot 

Slipknot was first started in 1995 in Des Moines, Iowa, by a group of three musicians. 

The band released their self-titled debut album in 1999 and have since released six more albums, with hits including "Duality," "Psychosocial," "Before I Forget" and more. 

The band's most recent album, "The End, So Far," was released in fall 2022 and reached No. 1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart at the time of its release.
