AUSTIN — Don't be fooled: it is in fact winter.
Yesterday, December 20 was the first day of the winter solstice in 2018 and just one day later, Austin Camp Mabry tied an old record of 81 degrees it initially set in 1941.
Austin ABIA came in just one degree shy of its record of 80 degrees set in 1988.
But don't get too used to what's happening outside right now. Though it may appear to feel like summer, things will be reeled back into perspective with an approaching cold front Saturday evening.
There is limited to no moisture associated with the front, but southwesterly winds will change to the north and daytime highs on Sunday will be some 15 to 20 degrees cooler than Saturday.
