Muggy and warm weather extends through Thursday

Highs once again push 80 as southerly flow takes over after Friday's windy conditions.

AUSTIN, Texas — We'll continue to have a warm and pleasant next few days with highs climbing into the lower and mid-80s for highs Monday through Thursday. The caveat to this is that winds will be out of the south-southeast, meaning we'll get some Gulf moisture coming into Central Texas, but we only have 10% rain chances for Tuesday through Thursday as there won't be a lifting mechanism in place.

We are watching a frontal boundary that may come through late Thursday into early Friday that could bring in our next chance of storms, as this front serves as the lifting mechanism combined with the modest instability that comes with moisture coming in off the Gulf. This would be along a frontal boundary that could humble us from the 80s.

Looking past the seven-day forecast, we're looking at the effects of that frontal boundary plainly being felt across the country, including in Central Texas, where we expect below-average temperatures.

The KVUE Storm Team will continue to monitor this developing forecast.
