This week continues to trend toward more typical August weather.

AUSTIN, Texas — After an abnormally cool start to the month, a more typical August weather pattern has returned to Central Texas this weekend. This means mid- to upper 90s each afternoon with no substantial rain chances.

Sunday morning starts with some low clouds, but then clears to more sunshine and hot weather for the afternoon. Heat index values could reach the 100-to-105-degree range. Make sure to stay hydrated and stay safe with the heat if you have plans to be outdoors.

Next week will be more of the same. Highs will reach the upper 90s each afternoon with a mostly to partly sunny sky and no meaningful opportunities for rain. Any rain chances come during the afternoon hours under the heat of the day and due to high humidity. This is more likely for areas east of Interstate 35.
