Forecast: Toasty Father's Day weekend; tropical moisture possible next week

Here are the latest updates from the KVUE Weather Team.

AUSTIN, Texas — We've had a hot and dry Father's Day so far, but we're tracking the potential for big changes on the way.

This is due to a tropical system that could bring in some heavy rain by midweek, but expect Monday's and Tuesday's storm chances to only be isolated at best (20% on Monday and 30% on Tuesday, respectively).

Then the main mosture from the tropical system moves in, and we're tracking some good rainfall accumulations that are possible from this, especially in our southern counties. Rainfall totals are looking in the ballpark of one to three inches areawide with isolated higher totals in the aforementioned southern counties.

Thus, we won't call it drought-busting rain, but rainfall totals in the right spots could help us trend in that direction.
