Forecast: Isolated storms Monday; hot and humid mid-week

Here are the latest updates from the KVUE Weather Team.

AUSTIN, Texas — We're starting off your Monday morning with low clouds, patchy fog and drizzle. The low clouds give way to partial clearing Monday afternoon with a 20% chance for an isolated shower or non-severe storm.

There is a small, low-end risk for an isolated strong storm containing hail and damaging wind in Mason, Gillespie and Llano counties, but Monday morning high-resolution forecast model data shows this is not looking likely. Afternoon highs peak in the lower to mid-80s.

After Monday, it's all about the heat and humidity for the middle of the week. On Tuesday afternoon, the high will be in the low 90s, but the "feels like" temperature will be approximately 99 degrees. Wednesday will likely be the hottest day of the week with a high near 93 degrees and a "feels like" temperature in the triple digits.

A cold front moves through Thursday with a 20% chance for rain and storms. This will drop our temperatures noticeably for Friday and the weekend with highs in the low 80s or even upper 70s. The weekend does not look like a washout, but we could see the return of isolated shower and storm chances by Saturday and Sunday.
