Calmer Saturday; tracking next storm chance Sunday

The most widespread round of storms ended overnight, but we can't rule out a couple more storms Sunday.

AUSTIN, Texas — Thursday evening was a busy one across Central Texas with multiple Flash Flood Warnings, Tornado Warnings and Severe Thunderstorm Warnings. The severe storms have moved south of the KVUE viewing area, but we still expect lingering rain and storms especially for areas southeast of Austin.

Early Friday morning, the radar was fairly quiet, and this pattern continued throughout the day on Friday. This pattern continues through the day on Saturday, but then another round of widespread rain and storms moves in late Saturday and Sunday. This round of rain could also produce a couple of strong to severe storms, especially across the Hill Country.

Beyond that, Tuesday of next week will bring yet another chance for storms and severe weather, but this is still four days out, so a lot still has to be determined with this system, including specific timing and threats.

The KVUE Storm Team will continue to closely monitor this developing forecast.
