Several injured in major crash on I-35 near Yager and Braker

There were 12 total patients involved in the crash, according to ATCEMS.

AUSTIN, Texas — Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS) medics responded to a major crash involving multiple vehicles, including a semitruck, on Interstate 35 Wednesday morning.

ATCEMS said the crash occurred at 12100 N. Interstate 35 southbound. ATCEMS initially said there were a total of 12 patients, that five people needed transport to a hospital and that two people had been declared trauma alerts.

In a later update, ATCEMS said one adult and one late-teenage patient had been taken to a hospital with potentially serious but not expected to be life-threatening injuries, while two other adults were taken to a different hospital, one with minor, non-life-threatening injuries and the other with potentially serious but not expected to be life-threatening injuries.

In addition to those four patients, four other patients were evaluated but had no complaints of injuries, and four more were evaluated but refused EMS transport.

As of 9 a.m., KVUE traffic cameras show that I-35 was blocked off from Yager Lane to Braker Lane due to the crash. Detours were in progress onto the service road.

ATCEMS said drivers should expect continued traffic delays.
