UT's Sam Ehlinger continues to win weekly awards for beating OU

University of Texas' quarterback Sam Ehlinger is still getting recognition for his performance in the Red River Rivalry.

AUSTIN — Sam Ehlinger was named Player of the Week by The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award after leading Texas to the 48-45 win over Oklahoma.

Ehlinger accounted for five touchdowns in the game, running for three and passing for two.

Those efforts also had Ehlinger named one of eight Manning Award Stars of the Week on Monday.

The Manning Award is a quarterback award created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in 2004. It honors the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton, and Eli Manning.

Ehlinger was also named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week. His five touchdowns were the most touchdowns ever by a Longhorn quarterback against the Sooners.

Kicker Cameron Dicker was named Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week, after connecting on a game-winning, 40-yard field goal with nine seconds left to beat the Sooners.
