AUSTIN, Texas — A man is dead following a shooting at an apartment complex in North Austin.
According to the Austin Police Department (APD), the shooting happened just after 8 p.m. Thursday at the Canyon Ridge Apartments on Walnut Crossing, near Interstate 35.
First responders found a man who had been shot on the property, and Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services worked with APD and the Austin Fire Department in an attempt to save him. The man died at the scene, according to APD.
APD Officer Rudolph Saenz said Thursday night that investigators were still looking through the "large crime scene." APD would not say if a suspect was detained, but did say there was no further threat to the public.
