Three suspended Texas Longhorns will miss part of game against Oklahoma State

The Texas Longhorn players will miss part of the game against Oklahoma State due to being late to team meetings.

AUSTIN — The Longhorns will play the first quarter against Oklahoma State without their top two cornerbacks and a top receiver.

Starters Kris Boyd, Davante Davis and Lil' Jordan Humphrey have been suspended by coach Tom Herman for the first series of the game in Stillwater.

Herman announced the penalties at his Thursday post-practice press conference saying, “Davane Davis, LJ Humphrey and Boyd will miss at least the first series." He said the punishment is due to being late to team meetings.

Boyd, the senior from Gilmer, has started every game in 2018 and 27 games in his University of Texas career. Davis, the senior from Florida, has started six of seven games this year and 20 in his UT career. Humphrey, the junior fro Southlake Carroll, has started 13 games in his career, including all seven this season.

Texas will play Oklahoma State on Saturday at 7 p.m. in a game televised on KVUE.
