AUSTIN, Texas — Former Texas Longhorns linebacker Jaylan Ford is heading to the bayou.
The New Orleans Saints selected Ford 175th overall in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft on Saturday.
One of the leaders of the Longhorn defense, Ford was a two-time First team All-Big 12 selection in 2022 and 2023.
Ford's 2022 season put him on the national radar, as he finished with a staggering 119 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss and four interceptions.
Ford will likely be a special teams player in his first NFL season, but will have the opportunity to learn under veteran Saints linebacker and multiple-time All-Pro player Demario Davis.
