Ex-NBA player Metta World Peace predicts Spurs' Victor Wembanyama will score over 100 points in a single game

Could Wembanyama eclipse Wilt Chamberlain's 100-point outing set in 1962?

SAN ANTONIO — At just 19 years old, San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama is showing immense potential as he gets older, and more familiar with the NBA style of play.

He can already do it all on both ends of the floor.

He is currently averaging 19.3 points per game along with 10.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 43% shooting, 1.3 steals, and 3.0 blocks.

And he is not even halfway through his rookie season.

There is so much in store for Wembanyama as he develops that it will be exciting to witness but is a 100-plus point game in his future?

Former NBA player Metta World Peace believes that will happen for the Spurs rookie.

"I do believe he will score 100 points at some point in his career," Peace said on Los Angeles Spectrum SportsNet Live. "I think he will be the first one. Maybe 101 (points). I think he will get there maybe in about his eighth season."

Peace added that Wemby will fill out his body, and can see in him facing a lowly NBA team and will just score at will.

"He'll play against one of these old-school Clippers-type teams. Not the 2024 Clippers but you know the 1999 Clippers-type teams. Maybe there's a team down there and he just goes in the red. 101 points," he said.

That's a whopper of a prediction from Peace but could Wembanyama do it?

His career-high is 38 points set against the Suns on Nov. 2. He scored 30 points Wednesday night against the Lakers at home and has scored 20 points or more 11 times this season.

Per 36 minutes points per game is currently at 22.8 which means Wembanyama has a ways to go to see Peace's bold prediction come true.

Wembanyama certainly has the potential to break Wilt Chamberlain's 100-point outing set in 1962.

Considering the NBA's free-flowing offensive style, his offensive skillset coupled with his wingspan, his height (7-4), and his potential to add muscle to his frame to be a bully inside the paint, it would not be out of this world to witness basketball history.

He is the "alien" after all!
