Manor, Liberty Hill boys basketball teams headed to state tournament

Connally and Navasota were forced to say goodbye to the Texas state tournament.

MANOR, Texas — The Manor Mustangs defeated Connally 49-46 in the Class 5A Region III Finals to advance to its first state tournament.

The Mustangs (28-10) will play Mansfield Timberview (36-2) in the 5A state semifinals on Friday at 7 p.m.

It took Liberty Hill a bit more time as they needed overtime to defeat Navasota 59-56 in the boys Class 4A Region IV Finals, punching their ticket to state.

The Panthers (33-6) will play Decatur (37-3) in the 4A state semifinal on Friday at 1:30 p.m.

The state tournament will take place from March 7 to 9 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
