FRANKLIN COUNTY, Texas — An East Texas woman is behind bars after reportedly holding a man captive for nearly two weeks.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, on Wednesday, officials received a 911 call in regards to a domestic disturbance involving a weapon.

Authorities responded to a residence, located at 1001 High Meadow Drive, and spoke with Leslie Nixon, 43, of Mount Vernon, who was later arrested in connection with the incident.

The FCSO says the victim in this case, a 59-year-old man, was located at a neighboring residence.

Franklin County Sheriff Ricky Jones says investigators discovered, in the days between February 14 and February 27, the man was tied up and confined in the residence, given limited food and water and had been physically assaulted multiple times.

The FCSO says Nixon used a pistol to control and terrorize the victim, discharging the firearm multiple times inside of the residence during this two-week period.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Nixon was arrested and is currently being held in the Franklin County Jail on charges of aggravated kidnapping and attempted murder. She was arraigned on Saturday and had her bond set at $1.5 million.

The investigation is ongoing and the victim involved has not been publicly identified.

Sheriff Jones is requesting the assistance of the public in this case after investigators learned representatives of a church group, possibly Jehovah’s Witnesses, may have visited the house during the time the man was reportedly held captive.
