Rep. Mike Johnson could become the second GOP House Speaker to get the boot since last October

Virginia Democrat Jennifer McClellan says that under Republican leadership, the House of Representatives has been turned into "a circus."

WASHINGTON — The nation could be subjected to yet another removal of a Speaker of the House.

When Congress returns from a two-week recess on Tuesday, Rep. Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) could be ousted as Speaker.

Leading the charge is Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia). She took the first step in trying to remove Johnson from his job last month when she filed what's known as a "motion to vacate," which would forcibly eject Johnson from the speakership.

Rep. Jennifer McClellan (D-Virginia, 4th District) says that under GOP leadership, the House has been turned into "a circus."

In an interview with 13News Now, McClellan said: "It's frustrating. It just causes chaos for no reason. And people send us there to solve problems and help people. And we need to do our job. And unfortunately, House Republicans have proven they just can't govern."

Greene is opposed to Ukraine aid and her grievances with Speaker Johnson escalated after the House last month passed a $1.2 trillion bill to fund the government. If Greene is successful, Johnson would be the second speaker to get sacked since last October, following Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-California).
