BASTROP COUNTY, Texas -- The weekend rains did have an impact in Bastrop County where the Old Potato Road fire is now fully contained, according to the Texas Forest Service.

That fire burned about 320 acres. Embers from the giant fire that started Labor Day weekend sparked the fire. That wildfire destroyed more than 1,500 homes, burned 34,000 acres, and killed two people.

Bastrop County commissioners are holding a public meeting Monday night to discuss the recovery plan from that fire. It is scheduled from from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wilhelm Center for the Performing Arts at 1401 Cedar Street in Bastrop.

The discussion will include immediate, short-term steps and long-term goals for re-building the community.
