AUSTIN -- Southwest Austin drivers need to be aware of nightly MoPac Expressway closures that could impact their early morning commute.
Starting Monday, the eastbound and westbound lanes of Slaughter Lane will be closed at the MoPac intersection beginning at 9 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. This closure will continue again on Friday, from 10:30 p.m. until 8 a.m.
Northbound and southbound MoPac lanes will also be closed in southwest Austin. This nightly closure is between South Bay Lane and Davis Lane Monday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. The lanes will also close on Friday from 10 p.m. until 8 a.m.
Drivers are advised to plan ahead and slow down near construction sites. If you are a resident of the Circle C Ranch area, you should consider Escarpment Boulevard to William Cannon Drive or U.S. 290 as an alternate route.
