Suspect in custody after SWAT call in southeast Austin Saturday night

Two people were injured in the incident, police said.

AUSTIN, Texas — A suspect is in custody following a SWAT call in southeast Austin on Saturday night.

According to the Austin Police Department (APD), the incident happened around 8:30 p.m. near the 5300 block of Woodland Oaks Court, near East Stassney Lane and South Pleasant Valley Road.

Officers arriving on the scene made contact with two victims, and first responders performed life-saving measures. Police did not provide details on the victims’ injuries.

The victims were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The SWAT team was then called to the scene. APD said the suspect came out, surrendered to police and was taken into custody.

Police have not shared the identity of the suspect or victims in the case, or provided details on the incident or how it started.

It is believed this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
