AUSTIN -- With a little over one week to go until the start of Finding Euphoria -- previously called Euphoria Fest -- organizers have yet to obtain their permit. And county officials are asking whether it's possible to do the necessary review with just two weeks left.

Hector Nieto with Travis County confirmed to KVUE that Finding Euphoria organizers have not had their permit approved. Nieto said the festival was "pushed again for one more week" as the county is "pending receipt of additional documents and information from the promoter."

At a public hearing at the Travis County Commissioners Court last week, Finding Euphoria Producer Stuart Sharp explained that the festival was previously a three-day event held at Carson Creek Ranch but has been downsized to only two days this year. Sharp said at the public hearing that they have been working with "law enforcement, fire marshals and health inspectors to nail down the details and include everything needed."

Travis County Commissioner Sarah Eckhardt said at the hearing, "One of the difficulties is we need a certain amount of information before we can provide the provisional permit and before you can sell tickets."

But Finding Euphoria representatives only sent in a partially completed application on March 27, Travis County officials told the commissioners at the hearing.

Finding Euphoria submitted the following statement to KVUE April 25:

We appreciate the support from the Commisioners Court and Travis County staff. We're working to provide all the necessary documentation for a safe event, and we look forward to collaborating with County staff to make all appropriate adjustments based on their guidance. Finding Euphoria is grateful to the Austin and Travis County communities that have made this festival and events over the years possible.

Euphoria Fest began four years ago. The newly named festival is set to occur the week of May 12 at 9507 Sherman Road near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. According to the Travis County Clerk's website, it's scheduled to run from May 12 to May 13. But according to the Finding Euphoria website, the festival is scheduled May 11 through May 13. The festival includes artists such as Gramatik, Hippie Sabotage and G Jones.
