Westlake Pop Warner graces Inside Pop Warner magazine cover

WESTLAKE — Lights, camera, action!

A local boy from the Austin area has graced the cover of a national magazine.

Tripp Munford, who plays pop warner football for Westlake's pop warner football team, was featured on the cover of Inside Pop Warner Magazine.

The young football playing Austinite can be seen on the cover fighting through a tackle with the sheer look of determination in his eye to score a touchdown.

Munford's cover photo is featured again on page seven of the magazine in an article detailing the USA Football Rookie Tackle program -- piloted by the Hill Country Pop Warner League in Austin, Texas. The program is designed to help transition young prospecting football players from flag to tackle football, according to the magazine.

The offensive line for Dripping Springs pop warner is also featured on page eight of the magazine.

The Hill Country Pop Warner League is comprised of 13 teams: Del Valle, Dripping Springs, Fort Hood, Four Points, Georgetown, Greater East Austin Youth Association, Lockhart, NHO, Northside, Southwest Austin, Trojans, West Austin, and Westlake. More information on these teams can be found here.
