WATCH: Elgin firefighter rescues puppy from storm drain

The pup was in a pickle but, luckily, Firefighter Daniel Lopez wasn't far away.

ELGIN, Texas — Even puppies make mistakes!

Earlier this week, one wayward hound found itself in a pickle when it fell several feet into a storm drain.

Luckily, the Elgin Fire Department's Daniel Lopez wasn't far away and was able to climb into the drain and bring the puppy back to dry land.

The EFD said Lopez saved the day, and the puppy wasn't even injured.

The brown-and-white pooch's owner was there as well, and was the first to give it some love when Lopez hoisted it out of the hole.

"Aw, baby! Come here, chicken," she said.

"To the rescue! Hey, that's what I'm talking about," said another witness.
