Salvation Army angel trees aim to give thousands of children in need Christmas gifts

The program helps children in low-income families from Travis and Williamson counties.

AUSTIN, Texas — The Salvation Army is asking the community to give thousands of children in need Christmas gifts this holiday season.

Their Angel Trees are at Barton Creek Square and Lakeline Mall where people can go and adopt an Angel.

The program helps children in low-income families from Travis and Williamson counties. The families fill out a wish list of things like clothes, shoes and toys for Christmas morning.

The Salvation Army relies on donations to fill requests for "Forgotten Angels," which are angels that have not been fulfilled before the deadline.
