AUSTIN — Are the Texas Longhorns back?
Ranked in the top 10 for the first time since 2010 and fresh off a 48-45 upset of their arch rival and then-seventh-ranked University of Oklahoma, the Longhorns have reached a new high not reached in almost a decade.
“Our mentality is focusing on our next opponent. Even though we are doing well, we have a lot to prove," said Texas safety, Brandon Jones.

The Horns might become bowl eligible by mid-season. That's unlike the past four seasons in which Texas faced an unenviable task of hoping to reach six wins by the end of the season.
“We haven’t thought about that, but it’s interesting to think about it that way," said Texas fullback, Andrew Beck.
The Longhorns can extend their winning streak to six games with a win over Baylor University in Austin on Saturday afternoon.
