TCSO investigating homicide near Elgin

A suspect has been detained after the incident.

AUSTIN, Texas — The Travis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide near Elgin on Saturday.

The incident happened in the 23200 block of Alicia Dr., according to the TCSO.

Deputies responded to a 911 call about a disturbance in the area around 10:30 a.m. At some point during the 911 call, the caller indicated he had shot and killed someone, the TCSO said.

When deputies arrived on the scene, the suspect identified himself and willingly turned himself over to authorities. He is currently detained but no arrest has been made.

CPR was conducted on the victim, identified as 44-year-old Thomas Walker, outside a trailer home but was ultimately unsuccessful.

Detectives are conducting interviews with witnesses and family members, and the TCSO is in the process of obtaining a search warrant to search the residence.

Those involved were known to each other but not blood relatives, and it appears to be an isolated incident, according to the TCSO.

No other information is available at this time.
