Someone graffitied UT's Littlefield Fountain, runoff dyed water purple

The University of Texas Police is looking for the person responsible for defacing the Littlefield Fountain.

Students walking on the University of Texas campus Thursday morning passed an interesting sight at one of the school's most famous landmarks.

University of Texas police said a person vandalized the Littlefield Fountain using spraypaint overnight.

UT spokesperson Cindy told KVUE's media partners at the Austin American-Statesman that the graffiti reads: “This is the blood of survivors that UT ignores." The words are accompanied by a hammer and sickle, the Statesman said.

School officials confirmed to the Statesman that the water turned purple after crews used a pressure washer to remove the graffiti.
