SAN ANTONIO -- John Tindall said it’s almost impossible to believe that his co-worker Michele Boyd vanished without a trace late Thursday night.
"I thought ‘this can't be happening.’ She's too grounded. She's too down to earth. It just seemed very, very odd," Tindall said. "She's kind, she's loving, she's spiritual and I'm really, really scared for her."
Boyd’s desperate family and friends are hoping a public appeal will help bring her home. Tindall said that he's worked with Boyd for more than seven years.
Boyd is a registered nurse who works for the CHRISTUS Hospital System.
Tindall said that Boyd is a consummate professional, a woman who has been honored as a high performer.
"We've got a lot of nurses out there, a lot of family and friends of hers that are very concerned and just wanting her home safe and sound," Tindall noted.
Boyd lives in the far northwest side of the city near, Boerne Stage Road, but she works in hospitals around town.
Police have had little to say about the case except that they have been pursuing leads since Boyd vanished on Thanksgiving night.
A flyer released by the Heidi Search Center states that Boyd’s car was found in a restaurant parking lot Friday morning near the intersection of Rigsby Avenue and WW White Road.
Volunteers are meeting at 1 p.m. Thursday to hand out fliers in the area where Boyd's car was found. The address is 1701 Diane in east San Antonio at Dellcrest Park.
Tindall said that family and friends are united in their message.
“Michele, call us!" Tindall pleaded. "You have so many friends that are just out there wanting to help you."
