Records shattered once again in Central Texas with triple-digit heat

Stay cool and hydrated. Central Texas is set to break another record with more than 100-degree heat.

CENTRAL TEXAS — Today's high in Austin was 110°! This makes it the hottest July 23rd on record, hottest July afternoon on record, and 110° tied for 3rd hottest all time temperature in Austin. Records go back to 1897.

For reference, normally this time of year our high temperature is in the upper 90s.

New records were also set in San Antonio, San Angelo, Del Rio, Corpus Christi, Laredo, Houston, and Waco with 114°, the all-time hottest temp ever recorded there. Records go back to 1901 for Waco.

Stay cool and hydrated! Thankfully slightly "cooler" temperatures arrive by Tuesday with highs around 100 degrees.
