AUSTIN — Most of Austin woke up to the sound of thunderstorms late Wednesday night. Those storms brought heavy rain, flash flooding and lightning.

A few of the storms turned severe.

Record rainfall was set at Austin Camp Mabry. The old record was 0.56 inches which was set in 2000. The Austin area managed to triple this record Wednesday with a new daily record rainfall accumulation of 1.83 inches.
